Bortoletti Priuli Murano glass writing set for elegant handwriting and desk display

The Bortoletti Priuli Murano glass writing set is a beautifully composed Venetian desk set created for those who appreciate traditional handwriting, decorative desk accessories, and Italian craftsmanship. Handmade in the Bortoletti workshop, this elegant set combines a Murano glass calligraphy pen, a chiselled bronze inkwell, a signature dryer, and vintage nibs in a presentation that feels both practical and luxurious.

Rich in detail and heritage character, the Priuli set is ideal for writing important words, enjoying calligraphy practice, or displaying as a distinctive desk accessory with strong Venetian influence.

What is included in the set

This exclusive writing set includes a Murano glass calligraphy pen, a bronze inkwell, a signature dryer, three vintage nibs, and 50 ml of black Cagliostro calligraphy ink. Together, these elements create a complete and refined writing experience for customers who enjoy fine materials and traditional writing tools.

Murano glass pen and chiselled bronze inkwell

The set centres on a Murano glass calligraphy pen designed to feel perfectly balanced in the hand for elegant handwriting. It is paired with a beautifully crafted bronze inkwell with a chiselled finish, creating a harmonious combination of glass, metalwork, and function. The inkwell also serves as a useful pen rest, adding practicality to its decorative appeal.

Refined cameo detail

The cap of the inkwell is decorated with a refined glass paste cameo, adding an extra layer of visual richness to the set. This elegant detail enhances the heritage-inspired character of the Priuli set and makes it especially appealing to customers who appreciate ornamental craftsmanship and classic desk accessories.

Black Cagliostro calligraphy ink

The inkwell contains 50 ml of black Cagliostro calligraphy ink, a rich and atmospheric ink associated with mystery, depth, and character. Its intense black tone is designed to support expressive handwriting while adding a sense of drama and refinement to the writing experience.

Ideal for cursive writing and English calligraphy

The included vintage nibs make the Priuli set especially appealing for elegant cursive hands and English calligraphy. Fine-tip nibs are valued for the flexibility created by their shape and slit, allowing variation in pressure on the downward stroke and producing the light-and-dark contrast associated with expressive cursive writing.

Compatible with other calligraphy nibs

As with other Bortoletti calligraphy pens in this style, a range of nibs can be adapted for use with the Priuli pen. This gives the set added flexibility for customers who want to explore different handwriting styles or expand their writing options over time.

Available in nine Murano glass colours

The Bortoletti Priuli writing set is available in Black, Blue, Red, Amber, Ivory, Turquoise, Amethyst, Green, and Aquamarine. This choice of colours makes it easy to select a version that suits your personal taste, coordinates with your desk, or makes a thoughtful and distinctive gift.

Elegant desk accessory and gift idea

As well as being a practical writing set, the Priuli set makes a striking decorative addition to a desk, study, or creative workspace. The combination of Murano glass, bronze, cameo detail, and traditional writing accessories gives it a premium heritage style that makes it especially suitable for gifting.

Bortoletti Italian craftsmanship

Bortoletti is known for elegant writing instruments and desk accessories inspired by Venice, Murano glass artistry, and traditional decorative metalwork. The Priuli writing set reflects that heritage through its handcrafted glass pen, chiselled bronze inkwell, cameo detail, and careful balance between artisan tradition and refined design. It is a writing set that celebrates both beauty and usability.

How do I swap a glass nib for a steel nib in the Bortoletti dip pens?

To change a nib in a Bortoletti dip pen, first pull the existing metal or glass nib straight out from the holder. If you are switching from a metal nib to a glass nib, you may also need to remove the small metal collar, or ferrule, from the tip of the holder using your fingernail. Once that is removed, slide the new nib into place and check that it is seated firmly and sitting straight so the ink flows properly.

There is also a helpful video from the Procincial Pen Co. showing how to change Bortoletti dip pen nibs here: Watch the video tutorial.
