Bortoletti wedding wax seal set – Ca’ D’oro
The Bortoletti Ca’ D’oro wedding wax seal set is a complete luxury sealing kit created for weddings, formal stationery, gift presentation, and keepsake documents. Handmade in Italy by Bortoletti in Venice, this refined set combines decorative metalwork, a distinctive glass handle, and practical sealing accessories in one beautifully presented gift box.
Inspired by Venetian elegance
The Ca’ D’oro design takes its name from one of Venice’s most celebrated Gothic palaces overlooking the Grand Canal. This influence gives the set a character that feels both historic and refined, making it especially suitable for wedding stationery, elegant letters, and presentation pieces where a more decorative wax seal is desired.
What is included in the set
This complete sealing kit includes a 22 mm interchangeable wax seal stamp, four sealing wax sticks measuring 13 cm each, an alcohol stove for a clean and controlled flame, gold wax cream for highlighting the finished impression, a presentation gift box, and a certificate of guarantee confirming its Italian origin. It is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a ready-to-use Bortoletti wax sealing gift set.
Decorative finish and practical performance
The included alcohol stove helps produce a clean, soot-free flame, allowing the wax to melt evenly without blackening. This gives a smoother, cleaner finish to your sealing process and is especially useful when preparing multiple invitations or presentation pieces. With the four wax sticks included in the box, you can create approximately 60 wax seals, making the set both elegant and practical for event use.
Personalisation options
The Ca’ D’oro wax seal stamp can be personalised with your chosen design. Available options include English cursive initials, italic lettering, Roman capitals, Gothic lettering, double initials, or a decorative symbol. This flexibility makes the set suitable for weddings, anniversaries, personal stationery, and thoughtful bespoke gifts.
Enhance your wax seal impressions
For an even more decorative finish, the raised details of your wax seal can be highlighted using Bortoletti wax cream, available in pots of gold or silver. This is a simple way to bring out initials, symbols, and engraved details, adding extra contrast and a more luxurious finish to your completed seal.
Product dimensions
The wax seal stamp measures 22 mm in diameter. The handle length is approximately 9.5 cm, giving a comfortable grip during use. The presentation box measures approximately 24.5 x 17 x 4.5 cm, making it well suited for gifting and safe storage between uses.
Bortoletti Italian craftsmanship
Bortoletti is known for fine Italian desk accessories inspired by Venice, Murano glass traditions, and decorative metalwork. The Ca’ D’oro wedding wax seal set reflects this heritage through its detailed bronze construction, nickel-silver plated finish, elegant glass handle, and presentation worthy styling. It is a fine example of traditional craftsmanship designed for modern use.

Hi Trina,
Thank you for asking. Bortoletti recommends using 90% pure alcohol or denatured alcohol (Methylated spirits) for a stable, odourless flame that does not burn or discolour the wax.
The two best, least expensive fuels for the alcohol lamps are denatured ethanol (ethyl alcohol; grain alcohol), and methanol (methyl alcohol; wood alcohol; methylated spirit); both can be cheaply obtained at hardware stores or home-improvement centers.
What is the alternative to denatured alcohol for alcohol lamp?
Try using >99% isopropyl alcohol. It's the closest in structure and physical properties. Denatured alcohol is mostly ethanol with methanol mixed in so it can be sold for non-food use.
Please note that Calligraphy Arts does not sell this as it requires specialist posting, but it is freely available at many hardware and cosmetic accessory stores.
I hope that helps,
Jane
Hello Irene,
Thanks for asking. To seal a lid on a jar, you need to heat the end of the sealing wax with something like a kitchen lighter and carefully drip the melted wax over the area you want to seal. Then, while the wax is still warm, you can press your stamp.
Here is a video showing one method I found on YouTube:
