About This Product

The PAScribe black pointed ink 45 ml is a deeply black calligraphy ink developed for pointed nib work, helping calligraphers achieve crisp hairlines, controlled shaded strokes, and clean, precise lettering. Created for modern pointed-pen practice and chosen by Calligraphy Arts UK for its reliable performance, it offers the feel of traditional iron gall style writing without the usual risk of nib corrosion.

PAScribe black pointed ink 45 ml for precise pointed pen calligraphy

PAScribe black pointed ink 45 ml is formulated specifically for pointed nib calligraphy, offering an ultra-thin, deeply black ink that supports crisp hairlines, strong shaded strokes, and excellent control. It is designed to give calligraphers the responsive feel associated with traditional iron gall style writing while avoiding the corrosion concerns that often come with historic ink formulations.

Designed for pointed pen calligraphy

This ink is especially suited to scripts that depend on delicacy, contrast, and precision. It performs beautifully for Copperplate, Spencerian, modern pointed-pen calligraphy, and other fine pointed nib styles where controlled ink flow and clean stroke definition are essential.

Crisp hairlines and controlled shades

The carefully balanced formula helps the ink stay where you place it, supporting clean lettering with minimal feathering or bleeding on suitable papers. This makes it easier to achieve delicate upstrokes, bold downstrokes, and a more polished overall result.

Created to echo the feel of traditional iron gall writing

PAScribe black pointed ink is designed to mimic the tactile writing feel of traditional iron gall ink without exposing nibs to the same level of corrosion risk. This gives calligraphers a more reassuring option for regular practice and professional use while still preserving the fine, controlled character that pointed pen work requires.

Manufactured in Italy by Hamburg

PAScribe inks are produced in Italy by Hamburg, a specialist ink manufacturer known for high-quality calligraphy formulations. This collaboration combines PAScribe’s focus on practical calligraphy tools with Hamburg’s experience in developing dependable inks for lettering and professional writing use.

Smooth flow and reliable performance

The ink is formulated to flow smoothly from flexible pointed nibs while preserving the finest stroke details. This helps calligraphers maintain rhythm and consistency across both practice work and finished pieces, whether working on small drills or more polished compositions.

Suitable surfaces and use

PAScribe black pointed ink performs well on paper and parchment, maintaining strong contrast and consistent line quality throughout the writing process. It is suitable for dip pens and flexible pointed nib holders, but it is not recommended for broad-edged nibs.

Generous 45 ml bottle for regular use

The 45 ml bottle offers a practical quantity for regular practice, workshops, classes, and longer lettering projects. This makes it a useful choice for both committed beginners and experienced calligraphers who want a dependable black ink for pointed pen work.

This ink is really great, works well in my Hunt 22 nib and on copy paper too. A great even colour across the page and the thins are just right. Bravo to PA Scribe for this one.
